After spent years driving a Black Cab around Edinburg and have met multiple peoples from all kind of life. With time I noticed that peoples feel comfortable while they sit in the back seat. They can share their stories struggles or even their dreams. This is where the concept of Edinburgh Taxi Therapy was born. As a BACP certified counsellor and licensed Taxi driver I wanted to bring two worlds together in a more perfect than expected. It is about driving and creating a moving space for reflection and healing.
What happened in an In-Car Sessions?
Every session take place inside a licensed Edinburgh Black Cab. It is a private safe and confidential space just like any counselling room.
- You and therapist first decide a destiny at the time of appointment.
- Your therapist come to pick you or if want you want to come on your own.
- Strat by asking on how you have been since the last session. Discussion any problem that you have faced last time.
- The main session, where you and your therapist work collaboratively on identifying goals. May be you need to discuss some events from your week, examine difficulty memory or gain knowledge into a recurring pattern.
- Then your therapist will offer a feedback and sometime they assigned you homework. Like small practical steps to apply what you discussed to your daily life. Such learning integration separate to your session is important for your long-term change.
